Katie Davenport – Set and Costume Designer
Katie is a costume and set designer and trained in Production Design for Stage and Screen at IADT (Institute of Art, Design & Technology) Dublin. In 2017, she was designer in residence at The Gate theatre in Dublin. This year she was nominated for an Irish Times Irish Theatre Award for Best Costume Design for The Tales of Hoffmann (Irish National Opera 2018).
Her recent credits include The Magic Flute, The Tales of Hoffmann (Irish National Opera); Sure look it fuck it (Thisispopbaby); A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Rough Magic); The Drowned World, Much Ado about Nothing, Mojo, Spring Awakening (The Lir); Twelfth Night (Lamda); What Put the Blood (Abbey Theatre) and The Aeneid (Collapsing Horse).
Katie has also worked as assistant designer in film and TV for Ardmore Studios, RTE, PBS and Sky Arts, receiving a prestigious ICAD award for her art direction for iD Mobile’s TV ads (2016).
She represented Ireland at Evolving Design for Performance, an exhibition of European Theatre Design (Beijing NCPA 2016) and will represent Ireland again at The Prague Quadrennial, a world exhibition of Theatre design, in June 2019.
